Let's Try This Again

Many moons ago when I was a fledging young adult fresh out of college I started a personal blog to vent out my frustrations and thoughts about this vast thing called life. Years later, the thing hasn't been touched.

For a while now, I've been giving thought to starting a new blog solely devoted to my teaching career and today is the day I decided to jump in.

I'm entering my 6th year teaching, my 2nd year at a school since I left Cleveland County and moved to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I have a personal/professional goal this year of implementing Guided Math and continuing to hone up on my Readers Workshop literacy activities. It might be a huge undertaking, but I'm up for the challenge.

I've been on Pinterest like a crazy person, making new boards and filling up my newsfeed with my posts, haha! I've been looking at educational resource books and other teacher blogs to try to mold everything I'm reading into a structure that will work for my K-8, urban, extremely low performing school. This little slice of the Internet is going to be where all my thoughts and sweet finds come together.

So if you're up for the ride, hop in. First stop: Guided Math.
