Last week a few of my old and new grade level colleagues got together to make a few things we had been pinning on our respective Pinterest boards, mostly 1st grade centered anchor charts. Take a look at some of the ones that I made.
I recommend that all grade levels do this at least a few times throughout the year. Not only does it give you a chance to see all the team members you love and talk about all the crazy things we as teachers deal with on the daily, but you can make sure that everyone has similar themed items in their rooms throughout the year.
I know our admin has very high expectations about making sure that our students are getting a similar learning experiences in each classroom regardless of who their teacher is. At a school where we have high turnover rate and people don't stick around for too long, I like the idea of starting the year off with 5 out of my 7 team members (two were on vacation :D) having the same charts hanging from the rafters in the room.
